Andrea GomesNYU is not a typical university. We don't have pep rallies, we can't walk across campus in ten minutes and we don't know everybody else who comes here, yet that is what makes NYU extraordinary. Whether it's meeting new friends at a dorm trip to a Broadway Show or a class trip to The Met or participating political protests organized by student clubs or attending one of the soccer games, we have a world of opportunities at our fingertips. When I first came to this wonderful city, I was overwhelmed. I was away from my hometown in Connecticut, in a new city that was foreign to me. But when I started taking advantage of all that NYU and New York City has to offer, I fell in love. I immersed myself in NYU organizations such as Peer Education, Peer Education Council, and OXFAM NYU to name a few. I also spent one of my LS semesters studying in Paris. I felt right at home in LS. We studied a broad range of topics that I enjoyed and I made several close friendships with my professors. Upon embarking on your journey to NYU, take advantage of everything you possibly can - it's completely worth it!
