Final Grades
- Several students concerned about grades being turned in too late
- Will bring awareness to GSP professors and adjuncts
- Community Service Month Events
- Possible activities:
- A Place for Kids: Tutoring children
- Grand Street Settlement: hang out with seniors (i.e. karaoke)
- Relay for Life: A walk for cancer to take place in Coles
- E-mail needs to be sent for people to join team, which costs $10
- Go Project: Visit a school to serve as mentors and tutors, possibly for the first three Saturdays of the month
- Invite all students to make Valentine’s Day cards for a certain site, TBD
- School supply drive for children in Iraq
- An e-mail listing all activities will be sent either this week or next
- All-University Games
- Meeting will be on Feb. 12 to explain the event and for students to sign-up
- E-mail sent today for t-shirt graphic design contest (winner gets bookstore giftcard)
- Shirts will probably be around $7-8
- Events Committee
- Plan to have an jazz or comedy club outing on March 6
- Hope to have more events involving the arts (i.e. plays, ballet, opera, etc.)
- Ski trip to Hunter Mountain
- Will be on February 23rd; sign-ups go up on February 4th. (first come first serve)
- Broadway show
- Either on March 27th or 28th.
- Graduation
- Students must call TorchTone to get A.A. degree, even if they don’t want to walk
- Still need one GSP representative to accept all diplomas
- Teacher of the Year
- E-mail for students to nominate teachers will go out by the end of February
- Students Abroad
- Hope to have an orientation week in each site
- Plan to have a “Welcome to New York” event for freshmen that were abroad
- GSPals “pen pal” program for freshmen abroad students to have a friend in NY that they can contact through e-mail, Facebook, or Facebook group
- Variety Show
- NYU Loves Trees; Feb. 29
- Will be at Shorin auditorium, which holds 165 people
- $5 admissions will go to Greenpeace
- Will probably have two comedians and two bands, TBD
- May also feature Dangerbox, NYU’s improv group
