n690565218_1175776_6473ssss-1.JPGNYU had always been my dream school since I was a freshman in high school. I'm originally from a small town near Seattle, and despite how much I love it there, I definitely call New York City my new home. Being away from home, transplanted into a new environment, is almost like a rebirth. I've been given the opportunity to explore, pursue so many things. During my freshman year, I served on the LS student council. I am also an editor and writer for NYU's travel magazine, The Baedeker; a member of the National Residence Hall Honorary Society, a member of NYU's Tae Kwon Do sports team. I served as the Community Service Committee Chair of my residence hall. I interned at a TV station. Next semester, through LS, I will be studying abroad at NYU's campus in Florence, Italy. A lot of the activities I am part of now are definitely a departure from what I was involved in during high school. Coming to NYU was like a new start. NYU has really allowed me to travel all these different avenues and I value my sense of independence as much as the education and opportunity I am given here. Going to NYU was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
