student-garry.jpgstudent-garry2.jpgThere are a thousand reasons why I wanted to come from California to New York City for college, but little did I know that the best thing I would find here were my small, intimate classes and my incredible professors. My sophomore year, I started the year as an Orientation Leader for new LS students. I also became a member of the LS Dean's Circle and traveled to used this research opportunity to create a project on one of my favorite authors, the novelist Jamaica Kincaid, and I presented my project at the Dean's Circle Research Colloquium. NYU offers incredible opportunities. I am studying journalism and metropolitan studies. I have joined the student newspaper, the Washington Square News, where I am Assistant Managing Editor. As I begin my third whirlwind year, I really couldn't see myself anywhere else but NYU.
