Freshman Orientation

Freshman Orientation

Even before the freshman year begins, students are invited to many orientation events. The All-University Welcome Week is designed to help students find their place within the University and within New York City. The LS Freshman Orientation brings together new students, returning students, faculty, and staff during the three days before classes begin to prepare students for the academic year. Orientation provides the opportunity for freshmen to meet one another, meet their advisers, and become familiar with the various services of the program and the University. The concepts and goals of LS are identified and explained by faculty and administrators and provide the basis for small discussion groups and informal seminars. Representatives of over 350 NYU student clubs and organizations are busy recruiting during orientation, including the clubs and organizations specifically sponsored by LS. Orientation helps students begin the school year well informed about the goals and expectations of their first year in college.
